I’m not able to use strongly-typed views when using the Azure MVC project template. I can use non-typed ViewPages and ViewUserControls and cast Model, but I get an error when running the project with strongly-typed views. It says that it can’t find the type, even though I’m using the full namespace and class name. Anyone else have this problem?

Well, some steps are missing. You have to add new web role to cloud service configuration project. Otherwise you get the error that no roles are found.
